IMS analyzes current waste, business objectives, logistics, packaging and pricing. We then implement and manage each plastic recycling program.
At this stage the scrap is collected. It is then brought to a facility for processing.
After collection, recyclers send the plastic they have gathered to facilities where they separate the plastics according to types.
After sorting plastics, recyclers wash the materials to remove impurities. These impurities in plastic include paper labels, dirt, and particles. Washing plastic also removes glue and additional chemicals.
This process comes immediately after washing plastics. A plastic material cut into tiny pieces is more comfortable to process than when it is in its original form.
After resizing has been completed, the next process is to identify and separate plastic materials. The reason for testing plastics is to identify the class and quality of the plastic.
This is where the compounders transform the parts, grind, flake etc into a reprocessed pellet that manufacturers can then use to make their part.
Each program we manage has its own unique qualities. We currently work with a wide variety of plastics in numerous programs. Our strength is incorporating ongoing streams into new and existing programs.
